LSP power for a new e-bike drive concept and software interface for light electric vehicles

As a specialist for innovative electromechanical drives and systems, LSP has used know-how accumulated over the years – about mechatronic drive concepts, electronics and software development – to design a completely new e-bike drive concept.

Through his work as founder and Managing Director of the company Compact Power Motors, Dr. Leiber has developed profound and specific knowledge in the field of highly compact electric motors. As the only electromechanical company worldwide, the company was awarded the Cleantech 100 Prize for three years in a row. Starting from its knowledge of electric motors and a very smart proprietary drive system, the e-bike was completely redeveloped from the inside to the outside.

What started as an idea for an urban, sustainable mobility concept that could be used for all three mega-trends (fitness, e-drive and absolute freedom in city traffic jams) developed in cooperation with the company eVinci Mobility GmbH into a highly innovative, mature product.

Its patented drive system is extremely compact and powerful. It combines an extremely compact BLDC motor with a sophisticated control software based on automotive standards with specially selected and arranged manual gears. The continuous variable transmission transmits the drive power to the rear wheel. This enables changing gears even under full load.

The drive system running as a middle motor contains all drive components and enables a targeted vehicle concept with an optimum centre of gravity and minimally unsuspended masses. This results in a target-oriented two-wheeled concept with high safety even on wet roads as well as ideal off-road suitability.

The drive system is scalable and for use both in pedelecs (up to 25 km/h) and in s-pedelecs (up to 45 km/h), e-bikes (up to 80 km/h) and load-/transporting pedelecs (up to 25 km/h or 45 km/h).

Our subsidiary eVinci Mobility GmbH developed the Pike 1 based on our drive system.

Due to its high dynamics yet surprisingly low weight, the Pike 1 perfectly unites the manoeuvrability of a bicycle with the acceleration of a motorcycle. The powerful and highly dynamic drive guarantees maximum riding enjoyment. The Pike 1 provides pleasurable on-road as well as sporty off-road riding. The vehicle is so customisable that there is an ideal model for anyone. It recently received the Plus X Award.
